Late arrival tracking
Seven past eight. Late or not?
The answer sits in the definition, not in an argument. Grace is set in minutes for each shift; lateness, early leave and absence follow from it automatically.
Within grace · 08:07In short
A grace period is the tolerance granted at the start of a shift, written in minutes. A clock-in inside that window is not counted as late; one outside it is. Because the rule is written down, the same arrival always produces the same result — and the conversation moves from the person to the definition.

Shift starts 08:00. 08:07 late?
Within grace: not counted as late.
The answer sits in the definition, not in an argument. Grace is set in minutes per shift — move the slider to change the clock-in time and see for yourself.
Where the argument starts
Everyone remembers it differently.
- Grace defined in minutes
"I was only two minutes late"
Without a written rule, every arrival is negotiated individually.
- The same rule for the same shift
Different treatment per person
One manager is lenient, another is not; the team notices.
- Measured against shift end
Early leave goes unrecorded
Leaving before the end of the shift rarely makes it into the sheet.
- Visible the same day
Absence found at month end
A missing day surfaces weeks later, when nobody remembers it.
The answer is not in the argument, it is in the definition.
When grace is written in minutes, lateness stops being an opinion. You are left with the exceptions that genuinely need judgement.

If your question is not here, write to us directly — we usually reply within one business hour.
Ask on WhatsAppWhat is a grace period?
It is the tolerance granted at the start of a shift, defined in minutes. A clock-in within that window is not counted as late.
Can grace be different for each shift?
Yes. Grace is part of the shift definition, so a morning shift and a night shift can carry different tolerances.
Is early leave tracked too?
Yes. A clock-out before the shift's end time is recorded as early leave and appears in the monthly matrix in its own colour.
How is absence determined?
If a shift was scheduled for that day and no clocking record exists, the day is marked as absent.
Can I be alerted when someone is late?
Yes. Lateness is one of the events you can route to Telegram, e-mail or SMS; you choose which event goes to which channel.
