Glossary

Timesheet. The record.

A timesheet is the monthly record showing which days each employee worked, how long they worked and which days were absence, leave or holiday. It is the document payroll is calculated from.

What a timesheet contains

  • One row per employee and one column per day of the month.
  • A status for each day: present, late, left early, absent, leave, holiday or no shift.
  • Totals: days worked, hours worked, and the day count payroll needs.

Produced by hand or by rule

Filled in by hand, a timesheet records somebody's recollection. Produced from clocking records and shift rules, it records what the system observed. The second kind survives being questioned.

In easyPDKS

In easyPDKS the monthly matrix fills itself from clocking records and shift rules, and exports to Excel (xlsx) in one click with the totals already calculated.

Ask on WhatsApp
How often is a timesheet produced?

Usually monthly, aligned with the payroll period. In easyPDKS the current month is visible at any time, not only at month end.

Can a timesheet be corrected?

Yes. The calculated matrix is a starting point, not a lock. Exceptions such as leave or an agreed swap are corrected on the individual day.
